According to the results of the fourth evaluation of plant protection discipline issued by the Ministry of Education, there are 24 universities in China offering plant protection majors, among which the top two universities are Nanjing Agricultural University and Zhejiang University.

Plant protection is also called plant medicine. Plant protection is one of the first-class disciplines in agriculture, and there are four two disciplines, namely: plant pathology, agricultural pest control, agronomy and invasive biology (agronomy and science can be awarded degrees).

This major trains senior scientific and technological talents who have the basic theory, knowledge and skills of plant protection science and can engage in plant protection technology and design, promotion and development, operation and management, teaching and scientific research in agriculture and other related departments or units.
