Introduction to East China University of Political Science and Law:
East China University of Political Science and Law is the first batch of higher political science and law institutions established in New China. The school has two campuses, Changning and Songjiang, covering an area of over 750,000 square meters. It has the right to award doctoral degrees and master's degrees in law and public administration, and the right to award master's degrees in applied economics, political science, Marxist theory, sociology, foreign languages and literature, journalism and communication. It has built 16 second-level authorized disciplines for doctoral degrees, 46 second-level authorized disciplines for master's degrees, and 24 undergraduate and postdoctoral mobile stations for law majors.
Over the years, politicians in China have followed the school motto of "apply what they have learned, preserve our sanity and respect the law" and carried forward the spirit of "rise in adversity, forge ahead in hardship and excel in glory". They have built the school into a multi-disciplinary university with distinctive school-running characteristics in economy, management, literature and engineering, and are known as the "Oriental Pearl of Legal Education".
The school publishes core journals of law such as Law and Journal of East China University of Political Science and Law. The library has a collection of 2.68 million books, more than 500 kinds of Chinese and foreign newspapers 1.09 kinds of databases1.09 kinds, and 3.05 million kinds of electronic books. It is the largest legal documentation center in East China. Chinese and foreign law databases are among the best in domestic law schools. The school is a model school run by the Ministry of Education according to law, a national model school for standardization of spoken and written languages, a civilized unit in Shanghai and a garden unit in Shanghai. Songjiang Campus is a national property management demonstration park.
