The time limit for applying for reconsideration service is within 6 weeks (42 days) after the examination date. Candidates must ensure that they receive the online application form, relevant fees and original transcripts within the time limit for applying for reconsideration.
Candidates can apply for one or more levels of reconsideration, and the fee is RMB 900 yuan.
2) the way to apply for reconsideration
After receiving the original transcripts, candidates can log on to the IELTS official website Post-test Service Platform to apply for online grade review service and pay relevant fees.
Candidates also need to send the original transcripts to our examination department. An application for reconsideration that fails to provide the original transcript or fails to provide it within the time limit shall be deemed invalid and inadmissible.
Once the application for grade reconsideration is submitted successfully, it cannot be changed or cancelled.
3) Reconsideration process and time
Received the candidate's online reconsideration application form, related expenses and original transcripts.
Prepare the original examination materials (including answer sheet and oral recording) for candidates to apply for reconsideration.
Submit the reconsideration materials to the reconsideration examiner for heavy judgment. Re-examination examiners are strictly selected around the world, and all of them are assessed and certified by the Cambridge University Examination Committee.
If candidates apply for multi-level reconsideration, each part will be re-judged by different reconsideration examiners to ensure strict and fair grading.
After the heavy sentence is over, notify the candidates of the reconsideration results in writing.
All the above reconsideration processes will take six weeks to complete.
4) Reconsideration results
There are three kinds of results after reconsideration and heavy sentence: candidates' grades improve, remain unchanged or decrease. The notice of reconsideration received by the candidates is the final result, which means that the reconsideration service has officially ended. Candidates who apply for reconsideration again or raise any questions about the reconsideration service will not be accepted.
If the results are improved after reconsideration, we will issue new transcripts and notice of reconsideration results to candidates. Please note that your new grades will not be updated on the IELTS registration website of the Examination Center of the Ministry of Education.
The reconsideration fee paid by the candidates will be directly refunded to the bank card account used when you pay the fee by bank transfer within 2 weeks, and the refund period is generally 10 working days. You can arrange a refund in our office 10 working days later to check your bank card account. In order to ensure that you receive the refund in time, please ensure that your bank card account number is valid within 3 months after you complete the online payment.
If the results are unchanged or reduced after reconsideration, we will return the original transcripts of candidates and issue a notice of reconsideration results.
5) Reconsideration service inquiry
When the reconsideration service starts, the notification letter of the reconsideration result is sent out, and the refund of the candidates with improved grades is processed, we will notify the candidates by email, and candidates can also log on to the IELTS official website post-test service platform at any time to check the status of the reconsideration service online.
6) the use of transcripts in the process of reconsideration
During the reconsideration process, candidates' scores will be frozen and cannot be used to apply for domestic and foreign institutions or submitted to immigration agencies. Additional transcripts submitted during this period will be considered as invalid applications and will not be accepted.
