"In 2023, there were 590 universities in China's university rankings (main rankings), and Tsinghua, Peking University and Zhejiang University ranked among the top three in the country for nine consecutive years, with strong strength. Shanghai Jiaotong University and Fudan University rank among the top five in China. Other top ten universities in China are Nanjing University (sixth), University of Science and Technology of China (seventh), Huazhong University of Science and Technology (eighth), Wuhan University (ninth) and Xi Jiaotong University (tenth).
"Double-class" universities occupy an absolute dominant position in the ranking, and 90 of the top 100 universities are "double-class" universities. The second round of "double first-class" newcomers, Xiangtan University, rose by 14 compared with 2022, ranking 92nd in China, while Dalian Maritime University rose by 1 1, ranking 99th. So far, two more universities have been added to the top 100 list of "double first-class" universities.
10 The comprehensive strength of non-"double-first-class" universities ranks in the top 100, among which Shenzhen University (68), Zhejiang University of Technology (70), Jiangsu University (78), Yangzhou University (8 1) and Nanjing University of Technology (85) rank in the top five.
Peking Union Medical College ranks first in medical universities, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics ranks first in finance and economics universities, Beijing Foreign Studies University ranks first in language universities, China University of Political Science and Law ranks first in politics and law universities, Minzu University of China ranks first in ethnic universities, Shanghai Institute of Physical Education leads sports universities, and Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) wins the championship in the ranking of China cooperation universities.
