The Historical Evolution of Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences
Chongqing University of Arts and Science, formerly known as May 7th University, was founded in 1976 and further became a cadre. 1978 was renamed Jiangjin Teachers College.

Later, Jiangjin area became Yongchuan area, and people used to call it Yongchuan Teachers College. Because it is near the satellite lake at the foot of Huangguashan Mountain, some local people call it Huangguashan University, and the students in teachers' college also jokingly call it "Guada".

1980, Yongchuan area was merged into Chongqing, and 1994 was renamed Chongqing Normal University.

200 1 merged with Yuzhou Institute of Education (Yongchuan Institute of Education) to become Yuxi College.

In 2005, it was changed to Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences.

However, it seems that Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences is reluctant to mention that its predecessor is Jiangjin Normal College in many places, but prefers to call itself Chongqing Normal College. In the official website of the school, the explanation of the school history is also vague, so when the name of Jiangjin Normal College was removed, most people are not clear. However, the older generation has a deep affection for the name Jiangjin Normal College, which cannot be erased.

Since May 7th University is a continuing education, not a regular institution of higher learning, and its time is short, it is more realistic to upgrade Jiangjin Normal University to its predecessor.
