Guizhou Normal University, located in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, is a provincial-level key university with a comprehensive discipline layout featuring teacher education, which was jointly established by China people, Ministry of Education and Guizhou Province, and was selected as a first-class discipline construction university in Guizhou.
The school was founded in 194 1, formerly known as National Guiyang Teachers College; 1950 changed its name to Guiyang Normal University; 1956 was officially handed over to the people's government of Guizhou province by the Ministry of Education of China. 1958, Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to establish a new Guizhou University in the form of a joint school in Guiyang Normal University. From 65438 to 0959, Guizhou University was separated from our school.
1985 was renamed as Guizhou Normal University; 1996 was identified as a provincial key university by Guizhou provincial people's government; In 2004, the former Guizhou Vocational and Technical College merged. As of May 2023, the school has three campuses, Huaxi, Baoshan and Baiyun, covering an area of nearly 2,800 mu, with a collection of more than 2.932 million paper documents, including about 654.38 million ancient books and 0/.707 million electronic books/kloc.
There are 25 colleges, 1 College of Continuing Education, and 85 undergraduate majors. There are 6 authorized points for doctoral degrees in first-class disciplines (covering 32 two disciplines), 24 authorized points for master's degrees in first-class disciplines and 17 authorized points for master's degrees in professional degree categories; There are 2,576 faculty members and 40,000 full-time students.
