Jiangnan University is a national key university of science and engineering characterized by higher education in light industry. Selected as the Small 985 Project "Innovation Platform of Superior Discipline of Food Deep Processing and Safety Control". It is the earliest institute of light industry in China, with the earliest establishment, the best foundation and the widest coverage among similar disciplines in China. In 2007, it was selected as the only national key discipline in the field of food, and its discipline strength is quite strong.
