1999 added journalism. On February 5438+0, 2006, a college of literature with Chinese Department as the main body was formally established. The College of Liberal Arts has profound educational background, excellent style of study, solid students' basic theoretical knowledge, strong basic skills and practical ability, high employment rate and good social evaluation. Over the past 60 years, the College of Literature has trained 12000 students for the country and society. They have moved from school to all directions, becoming an important force in the country's modernization drive, and a large number of outstanding talents such as national backbone teachers, famous writers and scholars have emerged. In the course of nearly sixty years, there have been writers Xiao Jun He, poet and translator Mu, writer and literary historian, writer, poet and scholar Zhang (Gong Mu), lyricist, ancient literary historian Yang, modern literary historian Zhang Bilai, essayist Wu Weibo, foreign literary historian Li Jiang and poet and literary theorist Jiang Xijin. Professor Li, a literary theorist, Professor Qi, a linguist, Professor Sun Changxu, a linguist, Professor He Shanzhou, a modern and ancient literary historian, Professor Su Xing, a Chinese educator, Professor Pu, an expert in children's literature, and an expert in folk literature, and many other well-known scholars teach in the Chinese Department.

At present, the College of Literature has four units, namely, China Language and Literature Department, Journalism Department, Chinese International Education College and Ancient Books Arrangement College. It has the core journal of social science, Research on the Arrangement of Ancient Books, and the China Institute of Literature and other 1 1 college-level professional research institutions. There are two undergraduate majors in China, language and literature and journalism. It has a first-class doctoral program in Chinese language and literature, four doctoral programs in China classical literature, China modern and contemporary literature, literature and art, Chinese language and literature, and nine master programs in China classical literature, China modern and contemporary literature, literature and art, Chinese language and literature, comparative literature and world literature, Chinese curriculum teaching theory, communication, China classical philology and China historical philology. Established the national Chinese talent training and scientific research base and Chinese language and literature specialty.

There are 89 faculty members in the College of Literature, including 24 professors (15 doctoral supervisors) and 24 associate professors. The proportion of teachers with master's and doctor's degrees is 85%, and there are in-service doctoral teachers 16. Teachers include 1 member of the National Chinese Teaching Steering Committee, cross-century academic leaders of the Ministry of Education, 3 provincial academic leaders, 4 provincial top-notch talents, 2 provincial outstanding experts, 6 recipients of State Council subsidies, and 1 3 winners of Baosteel National Excellent Teacher Education Fund Award, Ceng Xianzi Education Award and Huawei Award. In the past three years, college teachers have presided over more than 80 national and provincial projects such as the National Social Science Fund Project and UNESCO, published more than 40 academic monographs, edited more than 70 textbooks, published more than 600 academic papers, and won more than 20 national and provincial scientific research awards. The disciplines of Chinese teaching theory, linguistics, literature and art, collation and research of ancient books have hosted four large-scale international and domestic academic seminars, which have produced positive responses.

For a long time, the College of Literature has adhered to the guiding ideology of taking basic education as the center, adhering to the education and teaching direction of giving priority to normal education and supplementing the training of research-oriented talents in Chinese language and literature, and striving to build the College of Literature into a first-class base for Chinese education and talent training in China. Over the years, the major of Chinese language and literature in the College has been built around the national liberal arts base, with China language and literature as the key major, journalism as the key major, and China ancient literature, China modern and contemporary literature, literature and art, Chinese language and literature as the dominant disciplines, forming a good professional layout structure and discipline development trend.

Over the years, the College of Liberal Arts has actively carried out foreign exchanges and cooperation, established academic ties with Chinese subjects in many universities at home and abroad, and hired a group of well-known experts as visiting professors in our college. The College has maintained perennial exchanges and cooperation with universities in Japan, South Korea, China and Hong Kong, and has sent more than 10 teachers to Hong Kong Institute of Education, Sōka Gakkai University in Japan, Sakura Merrill Lynch University, Waseda University, Otani University, Kobe Women's University, Dongxing University in Korea, Moscow University and other schools to teach or be visiting scholars. Since 1996, the Faculty of Arts has cooperated with the Hong Kong Institute of Education to provide summer Mandarin immersion courses for students of the Hong Kong Institute of Education. Since 2004, in cooperation with the Korean Middle School Chinese Teachers Association, Korean middle school Chinese teachers have been admitted to the College of Arts to pursue master's courses and degrees. Since 2004, we have cooperated with the University of Macau to recommend undergraduates to study for a master's degree at the University of Macau. Since 2005, we have cooperated with Hong Kong Institute of Education to provide 3+ 1 and 4+ 1 undergraduate education modes. Since 2007, in cooperation with Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries, we have begun to recruit and train masters in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
