There are 10 teachers in the keyboard department, including 1 professor and 2 associate professors. Many people have studied in the Central Conservatory of Music and the China Conservatory of Music. In order to improve the teaching level, the college hired experts from the Central Conservatory of Music and the China Conservatory of Music to teach. In 2002, two Russian experts were hired to teach in the department for a long time. At present, the teaching facilities of the keyboard department are advanced and complete, with 128 pianos, including a Steinway piano worth10.2 million yuan, a modern electric piano room and a multimedia classroom managed by computers. The department now offers piano and electronic organ performance courses, using excellent teaching materials from the National Conservatory of Music, aiming at training performers from professional groups at all levels in the country, music teachers from schools and music editors from TV stations and radio stations.

Some orchestral works created and performed by teachers have been broadcast on CCTV and provincial TV stations for many times, and won many awards in various professional competitions at the national and provincial levels. Music works and papers have been published in various professional journals and won unanimous praise from the society. The department offers courses on Chinese and western orchestral instruments, using excellent teaching materials from national music colleges. The training targets are performers from professional organizations at the national level, music teachers from schools and music editors from TV stations and radio stations.
