South China University of Technology, referred to as "South China University of Technology", is located in Guangzhou and directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a national key university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, and ranks among the national "double first-class" (Class A), "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project".

The School of Engineering of South China United University was formed by the merger of Guangdong University for Nationalities, established by 1930, and Guangzhou University, established by 1940.
Lingnan University Institute of Technology can be traced back to 1930. Guangdong Institute of Technology (hereinafter referred to as "Institute of Technology") was formerly the first Class A industrial school in Guangdong Province (known as "A Gong" in history) established in 19 10. It can be traced back to Guangdong Arts and Crafts Bureau, an educational institution founded by the Qing government in 19 10.
