According to the ranking of China University by USNews, Xiamen Institute of Technology ranked 289th in China in 2023. Xiamen Institute of Technology ranks eighth in Fujian Province, second only to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

School-running characteristics
The school has established a strategic layout for the development of disciplines and majors with "advantages in engineering, characteristics in liberal arts, solid science and interdisciplinary development", focusing on the development of eight professional groups: equipment manufacturing, material application technology, electronic information, urban and rural construction and environmental protection, software and information services, cultural industry, creativity and design, and business and financial services.
At present, there are four provincial applied disciplines such as mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, computer science and technology, optical engineering and control science and engineering, and two provincial applied training disciplines such as civil engineering and management science and engineering.
According to the data released by Clarivate Analytics on March 25th, 20021,our university, as one of the seven newly-added universities in 20021,has entered the top of ESI global ranking 1% for the first time, marking a new breakthrough in the construction level of key disciplines in our university.
