The headquarters campus of Northeast Normal University is located at No.5268 Renmin Street, Changchun City, and the Jingyue campus is located at No.2555 Jingyue Street, Changchun City. There is no branch school in Dongling District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province.

Northeast Normal University, formerly known as Northeast University, was renamed Northeast Normal University on 1950 according to the needs of national education development. Because of its name, Northeastern University is easily confused with Northeastern University, referred to as Dongda for short. It is a research university of science and engineering directly under the Ministry of Education. Located in Shenyang, a central city in Northeast China, Northeastern University has a Hunnan branch in Dongling District, Shenyang, Liaoning.

Northeast Normal University is a university directly under the Ministry of Education, located in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Founded in 1946, it is one of the first national "21/engineering" key universities and one of the national "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform" universities. The school has two campuses: Headquarters and Jingyue.
