The east gate of Tianjin University is located on the Weijin River, which is the main entrance of Tianjin University. It was completed on the eve of 1995. It was designed by China famous architect Bo, an alumnus of Tianjin University, and donated by Beijing Alumni Association of Tianjin University. The school gate is generally pyramid-shaped, reminding students that they must work hard to climb the peak of knowledge. The name and emblem of Tianjin University are engraved on both sides of the school gate, reminding students to be ambitious at all times.
