Dalian Ocean University is a university jointly established by the State Oceanic Administration and the People's Government of Liaoning Province, the first batch of pilot universities for the reform of the national outstanding agricultural and forestry talents education and training plan, and a key university in Liaoning Province. Originally, it was one of the four fisheries colleges directly under the Ministry of Agriculture. It is a marine and fisheries discipline in northern China, with the coordinated development of industry, agriculture, science, management, literature, law, economics and art.

Dalian Ocean University, formerly known as Northeast Fisheries Technical School, was founded in 1952.

From 65438 to 0978, Dalian Fisheries College was upgraded to Dalian Fisheries College. In 2000, Liaoning Agricultural Engineering School was merged into Dalian Fisheries College, and the school was placed under the management of Liaoning Province by the Ministry of Agriculture. 20 10 was renamed Dalian Ocean University in March, and the Liaoning Provincial People's Government and the State Oceanic Administration signed an agreement to jointly build Dalian Ocean University.
