Taizhou Institute of Science and Technology of Nanjing University of Science and Technology was established in June 2004. As an independent institution, it is very similar to Zhongshan College of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in Zhongshan. The school is an undergraduate college jointly run by Nanjing University of Science and Technology and Taizhou Municipal People's Government, and there is no other third party. This provides a very good space for the school to transform into a public undergraduate university.
The school is located in the main urban area of Taizhou, with an area of 1003 mu and a school building of 300,000 square meters. Relying on the advantages of our alma mater, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, we have set up 28 undergraduate majors, 7 secondary colleges and 2 teaching departments. The school has 10626 students, and the school has set up excellent classes. The admission rate of master students has steadily increased, and the admission rate of some majors has reached 36%. This is very rare in domestic independent colleges and universities.
By April 2022, the school had established seven secondary colleges, including Intelligent Manufacturing College, Computer Science and Engineering College, Electronic and Electrical Engineering College, Urban Construction and Design College, Environment and Pharmaceutical Engineering College, Business School and Foreign Languages College, and two teaching departments, including the Department of Basic Science and the Department of Marxist Theory Teaching and Research, and opened 28 undergraduate majors covering five disciplines, including engineering, economy, management, literature and art.
