The school was founded by National Chung Cheng University on 1940. Chung Cheng University was renamed Nanchang University/KOOC-0/949, Jiangxi Normal University/KOOC-0/953, Jinggangshan University/KOOC-0/969, Jiangxi Normal University/KOOC-0/972 and Jiangxi Normal University/KOOC-0/983. In 2003, Jiangxi Financial Workers College was merged into the school.
