What places does western Zhejiang refer to?
Jinhua, Quzhou and Yanzhou.

According to Baidu Encyclopedia, western Zhejiang was originally the abbreviation of two western Zhejiang roads: northern Zhejiang and southern Jiangsu. Traditionally, it refers to Jinhua, Quzhou, Yanzhou and other places in the central and western Zhejiang Province, while in modern times it refers to the geographical western Zhejiang.

West Zhejiang occupies an important position in history, and its name and scope have changed in different historical periods. Place names originated in the 4th year of Yongjian, Shun Di in the Eastern Han Dynasty (129), and were divided into Wu Jun County in western Zhejiang and Huiji County in eastern Zhejiang, which was the beginning of the regional concepts of "western Zhejiang" and "eastern Zhejiang". In the first year of Gan Yuan, Tang Suzong (758), Jiangnan East Road was divided into western Zhejiang, eastern Zhejiang (sometimes divided into eastern Zhejiang and western Zhejiang) and Yun Xuan. Western Zhejiang includes Suzhou, Xiuzhou (now Jiaxing and Shanghai), Changzhou (now Changzhou, Wuxi and Jingjiang), Runzhou (Zhenjiang), Huzhou and Hangzhou. By the Southern Song Dynasty, western Zhejiang was also the abbreviation of Liangxi Road in Zhejiang.
