From 65438 to 0984, several scholars from China Renmin University, Beijing Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and China Youth Daily established Beijing Humanities University with the mission of "serving the country through education, and knowledge will change the destiny" and the determination to manage a university. Poet Ai Qing served as honorary president, and former vice president Wang Zhen wrote the name of the school. In the early days, China established about 200 communication divisions, including the first maritime military division.
The school is also one of the earliest private colleges and universities established since China's reform and opening up. Now it has ten colleges, including Railway College, Art College, Management College, Humanities College, Aviation College, Engineering College, China College, International Dance College, Calligraphy College and Computer College, with more than 20 popular majors.
