Chengdu University of Technology, referred to as "Li Cheng" for short, is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, and is jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Sichuan Province and Chengdu. It is the first batch of "double first-class" world-class discipline construction universities in China.

By May, 2002 1 year, the school had 20 teaching colleges, 1 Institute of Sedimentary Geology,1Institute of Geological Survey. There are 74 undergraduate enrollment majors, including 15 national majors, 8 national majors, 4 national comprehensive professional reform projects, 38 provincial majors, 12 provincial majors and 13 provincial comprehensive professional reform pilot projects.

The school has the right to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, and the right to examine and approve the qualifications of professors and doctoral supervisors.
