What are the interesting places around Chiang Mai?
Chiang Mai, the second largest city in Thailand, has many unique cultural attractions, which are suitable for small stay and slow travel. Besides Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai has many places worth visiting, the most famous of which are the White Temple and the Black Temple.

As the scenic spots in Chiang Rai are not as dense as those in Chiang Mai, many tourists choose to sign up for a one-day tour in Chiang Mai and return on the same day. There are not a few people who use chartered cars.

1. White Temple

The most famous temple in Chiang Rai, many tourists didn't know about Chiang Rai House until they knew about the White Temple.

The White Temple was originally named Lingguang Temple, and its foreign transliteration was Wat Rong Khun. Because it is all white, it is called the White Temple by China people.

The designer of the White Temple is Charlermchai Kositpipa, and the construction funds of this temple mainly come from donations from him and interested believers.

The white appearance of the white temple symbolizes heaven. To get to the main hall, you need to walk a bridge called Naihe Bridge, which symbolizes hell. The White Temple is the first Buddhist temple integrating the concepts of heaven and hell, and its innovative architectural style has amazed the world.

It is worth mentioning that this building complex has not been completed so far.

2. Black Temple

When the Black Temple is less than half a car ride away from the White Temple, it is actually not a temple, but the architectural appearance is black and the architectural style is similar to that of the conventional temple, so it is called the Black Temple.

The Black Temple, also known as the Black House Museum, was designed and built by Thawan Duchanee, a famous ghost painter in Thailand, and lasted for 36 years. The black building symbolizes the hell on earth, and the main hall has long displayed various exhibits related to hell and death, including ancient hunting tools and animal specimens. The Black House Museum Park is a tropical garden with lush vegetation and pleasant scenery.
