It is an American public research university. The main school is a member of the top ten leagues and associations of American universities and is known as the "public Ivy League".

There are 43 American national academicians in the faculty, including American Academy of Sciences 14, American Academy of Engineering 13 and American College of Arts and Sciences 16. Alumni have won many awards, such as Nobel Prize, Pulitzer Prize, Fields Prize, MacArthur Genius Award and so on.

In 2022, American News World University ranked 80th, Time World University ranked 78th in 2020, and CWUR ranked 53rd in 2022-2023.

Academic construction:

The School of Engineering at Pennsylvania State University enjoys an excellent reputation. One out of every 50 outstanding engineers in the United States comes from Pennsylvania. This has also brought considerable research funds to the school. Many related enterprises directly cooperate with schools for research and development.

The theoretical mass media of Penn State University keeps pace with the applied media of Columbia University. Agronomy and food science, as the subjects offered by the school, are naturally the signboards of Pennsylvania State.

The school covers an area of 1.7 million mu, of which more than half is sports land (mainly in the east).

In addition to Beaver Stadium, which can accommodate more than/kloc-0.0 million people, there are Bryce Jordan Sports Center, open-air stadium, big baseball stadium, football training ground, rugby field, White House gymnasium, recreation gymnasium and comprehensive gymnasium. Tennis courts, beach volleyball courts and basketball courts are all over the campus. There is a golf course in the westernmost part of the campus.
