The graduate management major of Dalian Maritime University is affiliated to the School of Management and Humanities.

The School of Management and Humanities has teaching and research institutions such as management department, sociology department, political department, philosophy department, Chinese department, psychological education research center, art education research center, national defense education research center and liberal arts education center. The college has more than 40 faculty members, including 20 professors and associate professors, 9 lecturers and more than 0 part-time professors/kloc-0. All young and middle-aged teachers under the age of 45 have master's degree or above, of which 15 has a doctorate, and 1 is studying for a doctorate. There are 2 doctoral supervisors and 4 master supervisors/kloc-0. At present, there are more than 500 undergraduates and more than 60 postgraduates. In recent years, college teachers have completed and undertaken more than one national, provincial, ministerial and municipal scientific research project 10, including more than one national social science fund, national natural science fund, humanities and social science project of Ministry of Education and soft science project of Ministry of Communications 10. He has published more than 30 academic books and teaching materials and more than 400 scientific research papers. Many of them were reprinted by Xinhua Digest, China Renmin University Books and Newspapers, Academic Digest of Liberal Arts in Colleges and Universities, and China Social Science Digest, which had a certain social impact.

The School of Management and Humanities has six undergraduate majors, namely, administration (port and shipping), public utility management, social work (maritime social worker), political science and administration (transportation and government affairs), philosophy (decision-making and creativity) and Chinese language and literature, as well as authorization points for master's degree in public administration and master's degree in Marxist philosophy.

The major of Administration (Port and Shipping) aims to cultivate senior professionals who have the basic quality of modern administration and strong practical working ability and are engaged in management work. The major of public enterprise management focuses on cultivating applied and compound senior professionals who are engaged in management in government departments and non-government public institutions, especially in transportation, ports and shipping systems. The social work major (HNA social worker) trains senior professionals with basic social work theory and knowledge, skilled social investigation and research skills and practical social work ability, especially with the ability of social workers to intervene in maritime affairs such as maritime affairs, seaports and sea-related communities. Political and legal management (traffic control) closely relies on the shipping characteristics of Dalian Maritime University and strengthens relevant skills training. Philosophy major (decision-making and creation) pays special attention to the cultivation of students' practical ability on the basis of improving students' theoretical level. Chinese language and literature majors pay special attention to improving students' practical writing ability while strengthening the teaching of students' basic knowledge.

The tutorial system is implemented in all undergraduate majors of the college, and each undergraduate is equipped with a tutor to provide students with guidance in learning and other aspects at any time. Students can also work with graduate students to assist their tutors in scientific research, so as to exercise their scientific research ability.

The School of Public Administration and Humanities undertook the main task of building the humanistic environment of the school, and established the Boya Education Research Center. The School of Management and Humanities has many societies and active students, and has made outstanding achievements in various school activities. Especially through various forms of activities, the comprehensive quality of students has been effectively improved.

The School of Management and Humanities began to recruit students from 1983, and trained a large number of talents for major port aviation enterprises and institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Transport and Express. College graduates have been widely welcomed by employers in port aviation enterprises and institutions, and a number of graduates have obtained graduate students and national civil servants. According to the survey, nearly half of the graduates took up real leadership positions only four or five years after they took up their jobs, and some graduates also served as full-time secretaries to the general managers of large enterprises. After more than 20 years of development and construction, the college has become a multi-disciplinary, multi-professional, multi-level and degree-level school-running institution.
