Xi Jiaotong University Architectural Design Office was established in 1984. In 2005, when the school was restructured, it was transferred from the Department of Infrastructure to the College of Human Settlements and Civil Engineering. The architectural design room mainly undertakes campus projects, and has successively undertaken many projects such as teaching and experimental rooms, student apartments, staff residences, and conceptual planning of Yanliang campus. Xi Jiaotong University Architectural Design Office is an engineering design unit approved by the Provincial Construction Department. It has the qualification to undertake community master planning, general civil and industrial architectural design, and indoor and outdoor environmental design. Based on the existing teaching and research resources of the school, the architectural design room integrates the professional advantages of civil engineering, architecture, ventilation and air conditioning, and architectural environment to create more and better architectural works.

The architectural design office of Xi Jiaotong University adheres to the principle of "careful design, enthusiastic service, quality first and customer first", and warmly welcomes people from all walks of life inside and outside the school to inquire and cooperate. At present, China's building energy consumption accounts for about 30% of the total energy consumption of the whole society, and building energy conservation has become an important part of the whole society's energy conservation and has risen to the key areas of national energy conservation and emission reduction work. In the Outline of the National Medium-and Long-term Science and Technology Development Plan, building energy conservation and green building are clearly listed as key areas and priority subject areas.

In order to meet the national strategic demand for building energy efficiency research, Xi Jiaotong University integrated the relevant resources of the Institute of Human Settlements and established the Building Energy Efficiency Research Center. The center will be combined with enterprises to build a benign development chain in Industry-University-Research. The work to be carried out includes:

(1) Technical Policy Consultation on Building Energy Efficiency

Conduct microclimate simulation in residential areas to provide necessary data for the correct and rational use of natural energy; Provide relevant design and consultation for building energy-saving technology in residential energy planning and architectural design; Provide technical advice on building energy saving in the design, operation and maintenance of air conditioning system; Simulate and evaluate the indoor ventilation effect and air distribution, and put forward the corresponding energy-saving transformation scheme; The life cycle assessment of existing wall materials provides the necessary basis for popularizing new wall materials suitable for regional characteristics; Provide necessary technical support for relevant management departments of building energy conservation.

(2) Develop mechanisms, measures and tools to formulate relevant policies and ensure their implementation.

According to the research results of the center, formulate relevant codes for building energy conservation in line with regional characteristics, and provide necessary technical support for the implementation of the details of the codes; Establish a database of building energy consumption in western China; Carry out simulation, prediction and evaluation of building energy consumption; Develop and improve the evaluation software of building energy consumption.

(3) Developing building energy-saving technical products and popularizing engineering applications.

Develop heat pump technology suitable for regional characteristics; Develop and evaluate new wall materials with energy-saving potential and apply them in engineering; Develop energy-saving air conditioning equipment; Develop new high-efficiency fans to reduce energy consumption in air transportation; Study the new form of making full use of natural ventilation; Develop new technology of cold storage and heat storage in building energy saving; Develop building energy-saving integrated technology and carry out engineering demonstration.

(4) Carry out basic and applied research with guidance and great social significance in the field of building energy conservation.

To study the scientific problems in cold storage and heat storage technology, to provide the necessary scientific basis for the development of wall materials with good cold storage and heat storage performance, and to provide the necessary guidance for its practical application; Study on the fast and accurate field test method of thermal conductivity of wall materials to provide guidance for evaluating and developing energy-saving building maintenance structures; According to the research trends at home and abroad, basic research with potential application of building energy efficiency is selected to carry out research, which provides necessary accumulation for developing new technologies of building energy efficiency.

(5) Carry out building energy consumption status test and energy-saving transformation of typical projects.

On-site testing of typical building energy consumption in the region, and accumulation of basic data of regional building energy consumption; Make necessary energy-saving diagnosis of buildings and put forward energy-saving transformation schemes; Select typical buildings to carry out energy-saving renovation projects, and actually track and test the energy-saving effect. The civil engineering specialty of Jiaotong University was founded in 1907, which is the earliest civil engineering specialty in China. Later, it developed into a college of civil engineering and became one of the four colleges of Jiaotong University. In the development course of nearly a hundred years, civil engineering has trained and brought up a large number of well-known scholars at home and abroad, including Zhang Guangdou, Zhou Jing, Sun Jun, Zhao Guojun and Liu Jianhang, as well as internationally renowned structural engineers such as Lin Tongyan and Yuqiu Yang.

During the adjustment of national universities in 1950s, the civil engineering major of Jiaotong University was adjusted to Tongji University, Hohai University and other brother universities. 65438-0984, Xi Jiaotong University resumed and rebuilt the major of industrial and civil architecture, which belongs to the Department of Architecture and Structural Engineering. 1994 The Department of Architecture and Structural Engineering was renamed as the Department of Architectural Engineering, and 1999 was renamed as the Department of Civil Engineering.

The Department of Civil Engineering has 6 teachers 16 and 3 experimental technicians, including 4 professors (3 doctoral supervisors), 2 associate professors 10 and 2 lecturers. Among the teachers, 8 have doctoral degrees, 6 have postdoctoral work experience, and many domestic and foreign scholars are employed as part-time professors. There are more than 300 undergraduates and about 60 graduate students.

The Department of Civil Engineering now has a major in civil engineering, which aims to cultivate professionals who master the basic theories and systems of civil engineering, have the ability to engage in the research, development and practice of various civil engineering projects, and can engage in the design, construction, management and research of civil engineering and related fields. There are three professional modules: construction engineering, road and bridge engineering and underground engineering. It has two master's degree programs in structural engineering and geotechnical engineering, as well as the master's degree program in professional field in architectural and civil engineering established by * * *. There are laboratories for structural engineering, building materials, geotechnical engineering, surveying and computer-aided analysis and design.
