South China University of Technology, formerly known as South China University of Technology, can be traced back to a class of industrial schools in Guangdong Province, and was established in 19 1952. 1952 was formally established, and was transferred to Hunan University, Zhonghua University in Wuchang, Wuhan Jiaotong University and Guangdong Institute of Technology on the basis of engineering departments and majors of Sun Yat-sen University, South China United University Institute of Technology and Lingnan University Institute of Technology.

1960 became a national key university; 1988 was renamed South China University of Technology. The school is divided into three campuses. Wushan Campus is located in Shipai College District, Tianhe District.
