Gu Linbing (1945—), a native of Dehui, Jilin Province, is an academician of China Academy of Sciences, a famous physicist and material scientist, and is currently the president of Tsinghua University. He has won many awards, such as the He Liang Heli Fund Science and Technology Progress Award, the second prize of the National Natural Science Award, the first prize of the Natural Science Award of China University, the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education (State Education Commission) for four times, the second prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award, the "Important Contribution to Work during the Seventh Five-Year Plan" Award of the State Science and Technology Commission, and the special prize of excellent teachers of Baosteel Education Fund. 1960 to 1965 studied in No.9 Middle School in Baotou, Inner Mongolia and No.1 Middle School in Wuhu, Anhui. 1965 was admitted to study in department of engineering physics, Tsinghua University. 1970 stayed in school after graduating from college. 197 1, join the China * * * production party.
