According to official website of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai Jiaotong University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, which is established in Shanghai and directly under the central government. As one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in China, it ranks among the national "double first-class", "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project" key construction institutions.
The school has campuses in Xuhui, Minhang, Huangpu, Changning and Pudong, covering a total area of more than 3 million square meters.
