The major in college is completely different from my job. This situation is very common in the workplace, generally for two reasons:
First, when matching people and posts, enterprises will make rough matching according to professional characteristics and job vacancies, rather than accurate matching. Because in many enterprises, some positions do not correspond to the corresponding majors, or some majors do not have corresponding positions within the enterprise, at this time, enterprises can only divide personnel according to the general characteristics of majors, which will easily lead to the mismatch between majors and positions.
Second, the mismatch between major and post is not only reflected in the mismatch between major and post, but also in the seemingly matching between major and post, and the actual work content is completely mismatched. This is also a normal phenomenon, because each enterprise has different requirements and standards for the same position. Even if it looks like a professional counterpart, there will be differences in actual work.
In short, no matter whether your major is related to your job after you enter the enterprise, there will be some differences in fact, and it is impossible to achieve absolute professional counterparts. So at this time, don't feel lost, or complain that your major doesn't correspond to your position. You feel that you have studied in college for four years, but you should learn the knowledge of your position quickly and improve your business ability.
In addition, universities teach people not only professional knowledge, but also the way one handles and thinks about problems. Therefore, after entering the job, don't pay too much attention to whether the major matches the job, that is, whether the knowledge and skills you have learned can be applied to practical work. What you should pay more attention to is how to find, analyze and solve problems in practical work, and this is a person.
