Nanchang University now has five campuses, namely Qianhu, Qingshan Lake, Donghu Lake, Poyang Lake and Fuzhou Campus of Nanchang University. Nanchang University School of Software (North Zone) and Nanchang University College of Science and Technology (South Zone) are located in Qingshan Lake District. Qingshan Hubei Campus is a training base for postgraduate students majoring in food science, undergraduate students majoring in software, continuing education colleges, affiliated primary and secondary schools, as well as on-the-job personnel and personnel with equivalent academic qualifications to pursue master's degrees. South Campus is a comprehensive independent undergraduate college declared by Nanchang University on August 1 2006 and approved by Jiangxi Provincial Planning Commission and Jiangxi Provincial Education Department.
Nanchang University is a national "2 1 1 project" key construction university established by Jiangxi Provincial People's Government and Ministry of Education. It is also selected by the national "Comprehensive Strength Improvement Plan for Colleges and Universities in Central and Western China" and "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in Central and Western China" and a pilot university for comprehensive reform of higher education in Jiangxi Province.
