The School of Foreign Languages, Cultures and International Exchanges of Zhejiang University (hereinafter referred to as the School of Foreign Languages) has five languages, namely English, Japanese, German, Russian and French, and has majors in English language and literature (literary direction, linguistic direction, translation direction and economic and trade direction), Japanese language and literature, German language and literature, Russian language and literature and French language and literature. The college has the right to award doctoral degrees in English language and literature, master's degrees in foreign languages and literature, and seven master's degrees in linguistics and applied linguistics, English language and literature, Japanese language and literature, German language and literature, Russian language and literature, French language and literature, and Sinology International Education.

In other words, English, Japanese, Russian, German and French majors all need spoken English. As a proof of language ability to learn a foreign language, you don't need other majors in other institutions. In fact, after entering the university, English learning for non-foreign language majors is quite lax. College non-foreign language majors have finished CET-4 and CET-6, and have stopped taking English classes since their junior year.
