Wuhan Jiaotong University is a full-time private undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education, a training base for service outsourcing talents in Hubei Province, and one of the first batch of pilot universities in Hubei Province.

The school was founded in 2004, formerly known as Wuhan Media College of Huazhong Normal University. On April 20 16, approved by the Ministry of Education, it was transformed into an independent private undergraduate college and renamed Wuhan Media College.

As of September, 20021year, the school has 165 19.26 square meters of teaching and administrative rooms, with an average of 14.34 square meters, with a total value of 4 1437 1000 yuan for teaching and scientific research.

As of March 2023, the school has two campuses, Wuhan and Dawu, with a total area of 1000 mu and a total construction area of more than 300,000 square meters. There are 8 teaching colleges, 30 undergraduate majors and 6 majors, with nearly12,000 full-time students and more than 600 teachers.

On March 26th, 2007, the Ministry of Education approved Wuhan Film and Television Engineering College of Huazhong Normal University to be renamed Wuhan Media College of Huazhong Normal University. On May 27th, the column group "Everyone Plays DV" of Hubei TV Movie Channel-Wuhan Media College of Huazhong Normal University was unveiled at Wuhan Media College of Huazhong Normal University.

June 65438+1October 65438+June 2008, the Animation College of Wuhan Media College of Huazhong Normal University was formally established.

On February 20 13, the original Animation Institute was renamed as the School of Animation and Digital Art, the Department of Art Design was renamed as the School of Art Design, the Department of Performance was renamed as the School of Performing Arts, the Department of Media Engineering was renamed as the School of Media Technology, the Department of Management was renamed as the School of Cultural Management, and the Department of English was renamed as the School of Foreign Languages.

In September, 2022, the Department of Ideological and Political Education of Wuhan Communication College was renamed as Marxism College of Wuhan Communication College.
