How to understand the standards of college students mentioned by Mr. Kai-fu Lee?
The word "university" first appeared in the Book of Rites: "The way of university lies in mingde". University and the Doctrine of the Mean are two articles in The Book of Rites. In the Zhu era, he took them out separately, called them "Four Books" together with The Analects of Confucius and Mencius, and listed "University" as the first of the four books, and wrote "Notes on Four Books". Since then, the "Four Books" have become the classic textbooks of imperial examinations for more than 600 years. Zhu said: "The beauty and beauty of the people go to college." What is a "university"? He interpreted it as "learning for adults". So today's university campus is just a form, and adult learning is the real content. This explanation may be universal.

The book "University" has the least number of words among the "Four Books and Five Classics", with only 1750 words, which is divided into two parts: classics and biographies. Classics clearly distinguish morality, being close to the people and being the best. Biography is divided into different things, knowledge, sincerity, integrity, self-cultivation, keeping the family in order, governing the country and leveling the world. Referred to as "three classes and eight orders". It has been studied as an official compulsory examination for more than 600 years. Today, millions of people become college students every year without studying it. So are there any new standards? This is a matter of opinion.

Thanks to teacher Kai-Fu Lee, I have the opportunity to communicate with more college students, which makes me think more deeply about what a real college student is. The following four points can be referenced.

First, junior college:

"There is specialization in the technical field", which is the foundation of all universities. Of course, all students must also be based on this. You can't go to college without a major, and you can't be a college student without a major. There is no doubt that college students should study hard on the word "specialized", but they should study hard on the word "big". In other words, it is not enough to know only a little specialty. We must also be "refined" and "deep" professionally. As the saying goes, learning without being good means not learning. It can be said that if you are not proficient, you have no major, and if you don't have a major, you are not a college student.

Our textbooks may be "specialized", but they are not necessarily "big". No matter whether the textbook meets the requirements of large and specialized, we should study it deeply and systematically. Some people take the postgraduate entrance examination, which is a big step towards "specialization". Not everyone has to go this way, but not taking the exam does not mean not learning. Because you are labeled as inferior, you should study more. More than a dozen professional textbooks are far from enough. But many people are too limited in their majors, and some people are 40 years old and haven't started studying yet. Can such people be called college students and handsome guys?

In addition to systematic professional knowledge, you must also be "knowledgeable". Only this "⊥"-type knowledge structure" can make you "profound" achievements, let you stand firm, prevent you from falling into a dead end, and give full play to your major to a greater extent, because as we all know, no major event can be solved only by professional knowledge.

There are only 40 books in four years in college. If you learn 80 books and 120 books, you just don't have to be afraid of Tsinghua Peking University. Even if I am the meanest "three books", I am worthy of being a college student.
