University of Milan (Italian: universitàdegli Studi di Milano;; ; English: The University of Milan, also known as "La Statale", is a national comprehensive research university, founded in 1924, located in the center of Milan, the second largest city in Italy, the largest metropolitan area, the capital of Lombardy and the "economic capital", close to Milan Cathedral.
Due to the continuous expansion of post-war enrollment, 1998 established Milan II University (Milan Bica University) and Milan III University (Insubria University). The University of Milan has 10 colleges with more than 60,000 students, including more than 20,000 graduate students.
The University of Milan is a member of the European Union of Research Universities, the 4EU+ Union and the European Association of Universities.
