First, the nature of the course and the purpose and requirements of its setting

(A) the nature and characteristics of the course

In the current national economy, computer network communication technology is more and more widely used and plays an increasingly important role. This course is about the basic knowledge of computer network and mainstream network technology, and is a required course for computer science and technology, computer application, communication engineering, electronic information engineering and other majors.

The main task of this course is to teach the basic knowledge and mainstream technology of computer network, including the composition, architecture and protocol of computer network, LAN standards and mainstream LAN technology, WAN, network interconnection technology and network application. The course requires the knowledge of computer network architecture, the significance and relationship of all levels in the architecture, and network interconnection. The course "Basic Principles of Computer Network" provides the necessary basic knowledge for the future development and research in the field of computer network communication and the use and maintenance of the network, laying a good foundation, and is also an important teaching link of practical skills training.

Through the theoretical study of this course, students can understand the architecture and network protocol of computer network, master the key technologies of establishing local area network and accessing the Internet, cultivate students' initial networking and network application ability, and lay a good theoretical foundation for the subsequent study of network practice courses.

(B) the purpose of this course

Through learning, students can have a comprehensive and systematic understanding of computer networks, be familiar with network environment, network operating system and basic network operations, rationally allocate and utilize network resources, and initially have the ability of network design and construction.

After completing this course, students have the ability to independently set up and manage local area networks, analyze network protocols, find network security vulnerabilities and configure simple network servers.

(C) the basic requirements of this course
