Inner Mongolia University is a 2 1 1 school. 1997 was approved as a national "21/project" key construction institution. In 2004, the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the Ministry of Education jointly established Inner Mongolia University; 20 12 was selected as "one province, one school" in China; 20 17 was selected as a national first-class discipline construction university; 20 18 was jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The school has five undergraduate and two master's pilot majors. In 20 17, the major of "Electrical Engineering and Automation" passed the * * * certification of the Higher Education Teaching Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education and China Engineering Education Professional Certification Association in 2020, which marked that the quality of the two majors has achieved international substantial equivalence and entered the "first phalanx" of global engineering education.

In 20021year, the major of "Energy and Power Engineering" passed ASIIN certification and was certified by the European Engineer Program (EUR-ACE). Energy and Power Engineering became the first major in our school to obtain international professional certification. The school was approved as the leading project of "first-class undergraduate" construction in Shanghai 1, the pilot specialty of "applied undergraduate"1,and the pilot specialty of "connecting with China".
