Engineering and Technology College of Chengdu University of Technology is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education. It was founded in 2000 by Southwest Institute of Physics of China Nuclear Industry and Chengdu University of Technology in the largest controlled nuclear fusion experimental base in Asia. It is the only university (state-owned and public) affiliated to China's nuclear industry. Adhering to the nuclear industry spirit of "two bombs and one boat" and "four possessions" and the school motto of Chengdu University of Technology, a university culture of "striving for the first place, striving for self-improvement, educating people and pursuing Excellence" has been formed.
The college won the right to award bachelor's degrees in the first batch of similar institutions, and formed a discipline and specialty system focusing on engineering, covering six categories: science, engineering, economics, management, literature and art, with coordinated development of multiple disciplines. The college enrolls students from 28 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions), with nearly 20,000 students and nearly 65,000 outstanding graduates. Unique geographical advantages and beautiful campus environment
The college is located in a world-famous tourist attraction; Leshan City, Sichuan Province, the main city, facing the Sanjiang River, backed by Emei. Leshan has developed transportation and convenient travel. The high-speed railway running through the southwest and expressway meet here, which is 40 minutes' drive from Chengdu International Airport. It is the sub-hub of comprehensive transportation in the west.
The college covers an area of 1.300 mu, with a planned area of 1.800 mu and a green coverage rate of 70%. Campus scenery is pleasant, showing the characteristics of environmental education everywhere. The campus is hilly and mountainous, and the architectural layout follows the Bay Mountain. Moruo Lake, which covers an area of more than 300 mu, is rippling with blue waves, and the parks around the lake and Wanjing Garden are full of birds and flowers, and Ginkgo Avenue and Zhang Xiang Avenue are picturesque. At present, there are more than 200 teachers 1.200, all of whom are state employees. 87.5% of the teachers have senior titles above associate professor and doctoral and master's degrees. The College has hired a group of academicians and professors with rich teaching and research experience from universities such as Tsinghua University and Peking University, and scientific research institutes such as China Academy of Sciences, China Academy of Engineering and Nuclear Industry System. The proportion of double-qualified teachers has increased year by year, forming an excellent team of teachers with reasonable structure and both ability and political integrity.
The college has achieved fruitful scientific research results and has been among the best of its kind for many years. College teachers have presided over nearly 200 national natural science foundation, national defense pre-research, nuclear energy development projects and various vertical and horizontal scientific research projects in Sichuan Province. In the past three years, it has won the "Innovation in the Management of National Defense Science and Technology Industry" award, several provincial and ministerial-level "Science and Technology Progress Awards", added more than 30 patents, and published nearly 650 papers (77 national defense reports) in national core and above journals, including 67 in EI, 40 in SCI40 and 52 in ISTP. At the same time, the college has successfully docked dozens of projects with local large and medium-sized enterprises, directly serving local economic and social construction, and achieved remarkable results.

The College has established five provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, including engineering training center, nuclear engineering and nuclear technology experimental teaching center, economic and management experimental teaching center, civil engineering experimental teaching center and advanced manufacturing technology virtual simulation experimental teaching center, with the total value of teaching and research equipment reaching 400 million yuan. The intelligent library of our college has more than 1.6 thousand volumes. China Nuclear Fusion Museum built by our college is the base of nuclear science education in China, science education in Sichuan and patriotism education in Sichuan, and has become a high-end platform for teaching, scientific research and ideological and political education of college students.
The college is committed to cultivating applied senior professionals with solid theoretical foundation, strong practical ability and innovative spirit. In recent years, students have won 53 first prizes and 86 second prizes in national competitions such as internet plus competition, national finals of automobile intelligence competition for college students, national finals of comprehensive ability of engineering training for college students, national finals of mathematical modeling competition, national finals of entrepreneurship competition for college students and national finals of financial elite challenge for college students.
