There were buildings in Sun Yat-sen University in history. Its predecessor was the Department of Architecture of Qinxiang University, which was founded in 1932. 1938 merged into National Institute of Technology, Sun Yat-sen University. 1952 When the Department of Architecture of South China University of Technology was established, the Department of Architecture of Institute of Technology of Sun Yat-sen University was merged into South China University of Technology. Since then, there has been no architecture in Sun Yat-sen University.
There is a saying in the field of architecture in China that there are eight old schools in architecture, namely Tsinghua, Southeast, Tongji, Tianjin, South China University of Technology, Chongqing, Harbin Institute of Technology and Xi University of Architecture and Technology.
