The School of Physics of Shandong University has a long history, strong academic strength and obvious school-running characteristics. It is one of the national key discipline units of "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project". The School of Physics of Shandong University was founded in the period of 1930 National Qingdao University. Over the past 80 years, it has gone through several historical development periods, such as the Department of Physics of National Qingdao University, the Department of Physics of National Shandong University, the Department of Physics of Shandong University, the School of Physics and Microelectronics of New Shandong University formed by the merger of the three universities in 2000, and the renaming of the School of Physics of Shandong University in 2008. After several migrations and separations, the School of Physics has developed into an important radiation base for science education and an important scientific research place with strong comprehensive scientific research strength in Shandong University. The college has institutes of condensed matter physics, particle physics and nuclear physics, photoelectric materials and devices, and atomic and molecular physics. There is a physics experiment teaching center and a university physics teaching and research center. The college has national key disciplines, and the predecessor of the National Institute of Heavy Physics is the former Physics Department of Shandong University, which was founded in 1930. Over the past 80 years, the Institute of Physics has trained countless students and national pillars. Marshal Luo Ronghuan, the founding father of our country, Ma Zuguang and Peng Shige, academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, all taught here, and a large number of famous China physicists such as Wang, wang pu, Ding Xilin were in charge of teaching and engaged in research work here.
