Suzhou University is a national first-class construction university and one of the first universities listed in the 2 1 1 project and the 201/plan. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Province, and the National Defense Science and Technology Bureau and Jiangsu Province. It is also a key comprehensive university in Jiangsu Province. Soochow University, formerly known as 1900, is the first university in China to establish a modern university discipline system.
2. Suzhou University of Science and Technology
Suzhou University of Science and Technology was formed by the merger of the former Suzhou Institute of Urban Construction and Environmental Protection and the former Suzhou Railway Teachers College. Suzhou Agricultural Vocational and Technical College was founded in the thirty-third year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1907), formerly known as Suzhou Guannong School. From October to June, 2002, according to the school official website, the college has three campuses: Xiyuan Road Headquarters, Dongshan Campus and Xiangcheng Campus, covering an area of 16 16 mu.

Its predecessor was Suzhou Institute of Technology, which was founded in 19 1 1.
Since 198 1 was founded, it has won remarkable social reputation and become a regional brand college by adhering to the school motto of diligence, courage, loyalty and trustworthiness.
