Heidelberg University has intercollegiate exchanges with many domestic universities, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University (for Sinology and Undergraduate Political Economy only), Nankai University (for Sinology only), Beijing Foreign Studies University (for Sinology only), Shanghai Foreign Studies University (for Sinology only) and Shanghai Jiaotong University (Li Luning visited Heidelberg University for exchanges during his undergraduate years). On August 4th, 2004, the signing ceremony of Tsinghua Science Park-Heidelberg Science Park was held in Innovation Building. The two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in information exchange, personnel exchange visits and technical exchanges between enterprises in the park. In Heidelberg University, the Sinology Department of the Institute of Oriental Studies and Ancient Culture is a young department. Its ancient sinology major was established in the autumn and winter semester of 1962.

Dr. Bao Wugang, the first professor of Sinology Department of Heidelberg University, won a wide reputation for his book "The Outlook on Happiness of China People", which was translated into Chinese and published several years ago. 1993, the third professor, Dr. Wagner, won the Leibniz Award from the German Science Association. He was the first sinologist to win the highest academic award in Germany, and also won honor and financial resources for sinology in Heidelberg University. 1994 the department of sinology of the university of heidelberg established the position of non-director professor of social and economic history. At this point, the sinology department of Heidelberg University has become one of the few sinology departments in Germany with three professorships. Since its establishment 34 years ago, the Sinology Department of Heidelberg University has trained more than 20 doctors and 100 masters. The Sinology Department of Heidelberg University has two majors that can award master's and doctor's degrees: ancient sinology and modern sinology. In addition, there are nearly 20 teachers engaged in teaching. The number of registered people is about 150. The sinology department has a permanent visiting professorship. So far, scholars from China, the United States and Canada have been invited to give guest lectures in 1 ~ 2 semester, including many professors from China, such as Wu Xiaoru, Liu Guisheng and Xiong Yuezhi.

Beijing Foreign Studies University and Shanghai International Studies University each send two professional teachers to the Dahan Department of Heidelberg as Chinese teachers every year, while the Sinology Department of Heidelberg University sends students to study Chinese in the two schools. The communication between the Sinology Department of Heidelberg University and Tsinghua University Social Humanities College is as follows: scholars from Tsinghua come to Heidelberg to give lectures, and doctoral students from Heidelberg come to Tsinghua for academic research.

Basic information of China students who want to study in Heidelberg University;

There are more than 2 1 1 semesters in China. One or two universities can directly apply for undergraduate courses for more than three semesters, but they must start from scratch and the credits cannot be converted for a period of three years;

Regular full-time undergraduate graduates in China can directly apply for a master's program with a two-year academic system;

Domestic master graduates can apply for doctoral programs or master programs, but they need the recommendation of German professors, and the academic system is 3-5 years.
