The earliest mechanical specialty in Mechanical Engineering College was founded in 1935, with a long history of more than 70 years. College of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Jilin University
The School of Mechanical Science and Engineering of Jilin University was formerly the Mechanical Department of Changchun Automobile Tractor College, which was founded in 1955. It was formed by the merger of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Shandong University of Technology and other related majors, and later renamed the Mechanical Department of Jilin University of Technology. With the reform of the national education system, the merger of universities and the adjustment of majors, it merged with the Department of Construction Machinery and Mechanics of Jilin University of Technology and related majors of changchun university of science and technology, Jilin University and Changchun University of Posts and Telecommunications in 1997 and 2000 respectively, and in 2000, it formed the current College of Mechanical Science and Engineering of Jilin University.
