Tsinghua University: Tsinghua for short, was born in 19 1 1, named after Tsinghua campus, located in the northwest suburb of Beijing. Formerly known as "Tsinghua School", it was a preparatory school for studying in the United States founded by the Qing government. The following year, it was renamed "Tsinghua School". The undergraduate department was established in1925; 1928 changed its name to "National Tsinghua University". 1937 after the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the school moved south to Changsha, and jointly established "National Temporary University of Changsha" with Peking University and Nankai University. 1938 moved to Kunming and changed its name to "National Southwest Associated University"; 1946 moved back to the original site of Beijing Tsinghua Campus.
