According to official website of Fujian Normal University, Fujian Normal University is located in Fuzhou, a famous historical and cultural city known as "Zou Lu on the seashore". It is a century-old provincial institution of higher learning with a long history and outstanding reputation. The school was founded in 1907 by Mr. Chen, a Buddhist teacher in Qing Dynasty. After several adjustments and mergers, South China Women's College of Arts and Sciences, Fujian Christian University, Fujian Provincial Teachers College and other units established Fujian Teachers College on 1953, and 1972 changed its name to Fujian Normal University, which is still in use today. 20 12 Fujian Normal University was jointly established by the Fujian Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education. 20 14 was recognized as a key high-level university in Fujian Province. 20 18 was recognized as a first-class university in Fujian Province. In 2022, it was identified as the second round of "double first-class" construction universities in Fujian Province. So it is a prestigious school.

Fujian Normal University has two campuses: Cangshan Campus: No.8 Shangsan Road, Cangshan District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province; Qishan Campus:No. 1, Keji Road, University Town, Fuzhou, Fujian Province. Famous alumni: Lin Lanying, Cai Qi, Huang Kunming, Yao Jiannian, Huang Weiyuan, Liang Jingkui, Chen Zhijian, Fan Dian, Wang Yifu, Xie Youshun, Chen Weihong, Xie Yingying and Xu Yunli.
