Taking goodness as beauty: the basic aesthetic characteristics of children's literature

In the second issue of Journal of Beijing Normal University in 2006, Wang Quangen pointed out that from the origin of the discovery and occurrence of children's literature, the fundamental reason why human beings want to create a kind of literature specifically aimed at minors besides adult literature and create a language world that belongs to children and can be perceived by children's minds happily is to fully show that human society (adult world) respects children's rights and social status and fully understands them. This is not only the respect for the real children's world by adults, but also the respect for the children's world experienced by human beings. The reason why human beings want to create children's literature is that they need to have spiritual communication and dialogue with the next generation through this literary form which is suitable for children's thinking characteristics and children are willing to accept, and convey the cultural expectations of human society for the next generation in the communication and dialogue. Therefore, children's literature is a special form of cultural transmission and spiritual dialogue between two generations, and it is an artistic integration of cultural design and cultural norms for future generations in secular society. Children's literature is not created by children, but by adults for children as a whole. Therefore, children's literature fundamentally embodies the cultural expectation and will of adults (adult society). Its aesthetic orientation is naturally different from "taking truth as beauty" in adult literature, but "taking goodness as beauty", which is the basic aesthetic feature of children's literature. Through the visual aesthetic pleasure of art, children's literature cultivates and optimizes children's spiritual life world, forms the most basic and fundamental values, outlook on life, morality and aesthetics, tamps the foundation of human nature and shapes the future national character.

The aesthetic features of children's literature are the basic aesthetic features or artistic features of children's literature. The aesthetic characteristics of children's literature are mainly manifested in the following aspects: innocence, joy, innocence, change and simplicity.

In my opinion, pure beauty is an important feature that distinguishes children's literature from other literature. Children are unpolluted springs, crystal clear. Children's literature is to keep children kind, and innocence is the goal. At the same time, use the pure stream of children to wash away the dirt accumulated by civilized education between adults.

Children's literature at all times and all over the world illustrates this point. Whether it is China's fairy tales, idiom stories or western fables and fairy tales, pure beauty exists in every corner.

Bing Bo has such a work, "Good night, my star". It was published by Bing Bo in 1992, a pure and sad story that made people cry.

The weak and neglected mouse was assigned to a black and small star at the star-dividing meeting. Even so, he still cherishes this little star very much. He looks at the stars at the window every day. He is so happy and satisfied that nothing in the world can compare with his stars. When the mouse sleeps, it always says to the star, "Good night, my star."

But his star was ill. It became flickering and fell to the ground. Even so, the little mouse didn't want to give up, even though the lion king promised all his stars. He still just wants his little star.

Finally, the stars returned to the sky with the help of mice and fireflies.

What a kind and lovely mouse this is, just like a simple child, he is pure and persistent. We should protect his innocence from pollution. This story is full of moving beauty.

I don't like some articles that hint at real problems, which will make people worry and complicate children's thoughts, just as I agree with Mr. Qian Zhongshu that Aesop's fables are not suitable for children to read. Too realistic works lose the innocence of children's literature. Children should keep their simplicity.
