Jiulong Lake Campus of Southeast University is the new campus of Southeast University, located in Jiangning Development Zone, Nanjing, and put into use in September 2006. Jiulong Lake Campus was designed by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Southeast University, among which Li Wenzheng Library was designed by Qi Kang, the largest single building in the school, and has been put into use.

Since the summer of 2006, the main teaching area of Southeast University has been moved to Jiulonghu Campus, thus opening a brand-new page in the history of Southeast University. Jiulong Lake Campus is located in the south of Jiangning Development Zone, east of Suyuan Avenue, west of Shuanglong Avenue, north of Southeast University Road and south of Yin Ji Avenue, with a total area of 3,752.35 mu.

School of Transportation of Southeast University was established in 1995. Its predecessor can be traced back to the Department of Transportation of National Southeast University and the Road Engineering Group of Civil Engineering Department of National Central University in the 1920s and 1930s, the Road Teaching and Research Group of Civil Engineering Department of Nanjing Institute of Technology in the 1950s and 1980s, the School of Traffic Engineering established by 1987 and the Department of Traffic Engineering established by 1989.

At present, Jiaotong University has eight departments, eight research institutes, three research centers and two industrial institutions, and has a postdoctoral research station for the discipline of "Transportation Engineering", a national key discipline for the first-level discipline of "Transportation Engineering" and a doctoral program for the first-level discipline.

As well as the first-class discipline of civil engineering (co-founded with the College of Civil Engineering), there are nine doctoral programs and thirteen master programs in two disciplines. Among them, "Road and Railway Engineering" and "Traffic Planning and Management" have the position of distinguished professor, a Changjiang Scholar of the Ministry of Education. There are seven undergraduate majors.

Jiaotong University is the "most important" peak discipline construction unit of Southeast University. It has Southeast University Sub-center of National Road Traffic Management Engineering Technology Research Center, National Engineering Laboratory of New Road Materials, Intelligent Transportation Technology Innovation and Intelligence Introduction Base of Modern Cities, and Collaborative Innovation Center of Modern Urban Transportation Technology.

It is the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, the Key Laboratory of Traffic Infrastructure Safety Risk Management, the Key Laboratory of Urban Intelligent Transportation in Jiangsu Province, and the Key Laboratory of Traffic Planning and Management in Jiangsu Province.

Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of Urban Underground Engineering and Environmental Safety and Jiangsu Provincial Road Infrastructure have long served the Key Laboratory of Safety, National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Road Traffic Engineering, Southeast University-University of Wisconsin Intelligent Network Transportation Joint Research Institute and other research and teaching bases.

Taking the opportunity of "2 1 1 project" and "985 project", the college has formed a national first-class key discipline with traffic engineering as the core, a national second-class key discipline with traffic planning and management, road and railway engineering as the leader, a national key discipline construction site of traffic information engineering and control, vehicle operation engineering and a key discipline of geotechnical engineering in Jiangsu Province.

Supported by the doctoral program of bridge and tunnel engineering, with the disciplines of traffic mapping and information technology, traffic safety engineering, traffic underground engineering, port and waterway engineering as the growing point, it has become a discipline group with complete disciplines and outstanding advantages in domestic transportation colleges.
