Hohai University is a comprehensive university located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Founded in 19 15, formerly known as Hohai Institute of Engineering. Hohai University, 1995, is the list of "the first batch of universities recommended for postgraduate education" published by the former Central Education Commission. Subsequently, in 2006, the Ministry of Education conducted a comprehensive evaluation of universities across the country, and the evaluation results of Hohai University were highly affirmed. Therefore, Hohai University is considered to be outstanding in teaching and scientific research, which meets the standards and requirements of a first-class high-level university in 2 1 1 project.

In fact, the Ministry of Education officially announced the implementation of "2 1 1 Project" at the meeting of the National Leading Group for Scientific Planning of Higher Education held in February 2000.
