Donghu University was founded by China Donghu Intellectual Development Joint Company relying on Wuhan University, former Huazhong University of Science and Technology and former Wuhan Institute of Water Conservancy and Electric Power.
1984 Full-time private colleges and universities approved by Hubei Provincial Department of Education and included in the track of higher education self-study examination; Students who have completed the required courses and passed the self-study examination will be issued with graduation certificates, and their academic qualifications will be recognized by the state. Donghu University is located on the bank of East Lake in Wuhan, the thoroughfare of nine beautiful provinces. The air is fresh and the scenery is pleasant.
1986, Donghu University was transformed into a public institution with 20 employees. Its administration is under the Hubei Science and Technology Association, and its business is still under the responsibility of the Hubei Provincial Department of Education. At the beginning of its establishment, it borrowed some campuses of Huazhong Normal University to run schools. 1992 moved into a new school building purchased by self-financing at Shipailing Road, Hongshan District, Wuhan.
In order to integrate resources, Donghu University relies on Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and other departments to comprehensively cultivate innovative, developmental and applied senior professionals to meet social needs.
1994 10 Donghu university celebrated its 10th anniversary. 10 years later, Donghu University has grown to nearly 4,000 full-time undergraduates.
