Dalian University of Technology, referred to as "Dagong", located in Dalian, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). The Ministry of Education and the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense have established universities, and the Ministry of Education, Liaoning Province and Dalian City have established universities.

Dalian University of Technology, formerly known as Engineering College of Dalian University, was founded in April 1949. 1in July, 950, the establishment of Dalian University was abolished, and the Institute of Technology of Dalian University was independent from Dalian Institute of Technology; 1988 changed its name to Dalian University of Technology in March.
