19491February 12 with the consent of Tang Yongtong, chairman of the school committee, and Zheng Tianting, secretary of the school committee, Wang Zisong drafted a letter for Mao Zedong, asking Liu Chunnian to copy it in regular script and send it to Chairman Mao's office in Zhongnanhai. In the letter, Chairman Mao was asked to write the name of Peking University on the occasion of Peking University's 5 1 anniversary celebration (65438+ 17 February, the first anniversary after liberation), so as to use it as a new school emblem. The attachment of the letter is a piece of paper, on which is a rectangular box painted by Liu Chun New Year. It is 1 1 cm long and 3. 1 cm wide. When Chairman Mao wrote the name of the school, the box was marked "Peking University" for reference. On March/KOOC-0/950 and March/KOOC-0/7, the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee put Chairman Mao as the inscription of Peking University's school emblem in an envelope and gave it to Peking University with the postscript: "Please check it." It is reported that the original inscription of Mao Zedong exists in Peking University Archives.
