Established in 2003, Chengyi College of Jimei University is an independent college jointly sponsored by Jimei University and Fujian Jimei University Education Development Foundation with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is a full-time undergraduate education. Its organizer Jimei University is a public full-time university in Fujian Province and a key university in Fujian Province. The Ministry of Transport and the Fujian Provincial Government have established universities, and the State Oceanic Administration and the Fujian Provincial Government have established universities. Located in Jimei Learning Village, Xiamen, it was founded by Mr. Chen Jiageng, a famous overseas Chinese leader, and has a history of more than 90 years.

The college implements full-time undergraduate education, with eight departments, including Information Engineering Department, department of mechanical engineering Department, Food Engineering Department, Merchant Shipping Department, Management Department, Economics Department, Humanities Department and Sports Art Department, offering 33 undergraduate majors, initially forming a discipline professional system with engineering, management and economy as the main body and literature, law, science, teaching and art as the majors. The college makes full use of the high-quality educational resources of Jimei University, its alma mater, to effectively ensure the quality of education and teaching. At the same time, it makes full use of the operating mechanism of independent colleges, introduces new school-running concepts and management models, and strives to form stronger educational capabilities and brand advantages.

By June of 20 15, the college had more than 6000 students/kloc-0, more than 900 full-time teachers, more than 900,000 books, teaching instruments and equipment with a total value of more than 85 million yuan, covering an area of more than 550 mu and a construction area of more than 300,000 square meters.
