Peking University Department of Chemistry is the earliest chemistry department established in China. Its predecessor was Tang Gezhi Department of Chemistry of Shi Jing University, which was established in 19 10. Now it is the College of Chemistry, which consists of five departments: Department of Chemistry, Department of Materials Chemistry, Department of Polymer Science and Engineering, Department of Applied Chemistry and Department of Chemical Biology.
The five two disciplines majors in chemistry: inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, polymer chemistry and physics, are the only chemistry colleges in China with "all two disciplines of chemistry as key disciplines".
Second, Tsinghua.
The Chemistry Department of Tsinghua University was once one of the chemistry departments with the strongest faculty and the highest academic level in domestic universities. The adjustment of institutions from 65438 to 0952 interrupted the development of chemistry department in Tsinghua University.
The enrollment of chemistry majors resumed 1978, and the chemistry department was formally established 1985. At present, the Department of Chemistry in Tsinghua University has been re-established as an important chemical research and talent training base in China.
Third, China University of Science and Technology.
The Department of Chemistry was founded in 1997. Although it was established late, it developed rapidly. The Department of Chemistry has four disciplines: inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry and applied chemistry, and chemistry is a national first-class key discipline.
After four rounds of subject evaluation by the Ministry of Education, the chemistry major of the Chinese University of Science and Technology got A+, which tied for the first place with Peking University and Tsinghua.
The second echelon of chemistry major: Nankai University, Jilin University, Fudan University and Xiamen University.
The chemistry majors of these four universities all got A's in four rounds of subject evaluation.
Nankai University: The Department of Chemistry was established in 192 1, which is one of the earliest chemistry departments in domestic universities. In the second round of discipline evaluation in 2007, the chemistry discipline of Nankai University tied for the first place with Peking University, which has declined slightly in recent years.
Fudan University: Department of Chemistry was founded in 1926. 1952, the departments of colleges and universities in China were adjusted, and the chemistry departments of six colleges and universities, including Zhejiang University, Jiaotong University and Tongji University, were merged into Fudan University, and their strength has greatly increased since then. After more than 80 years, the Department of Chemistry has become one of the important bases for training first-class chemical talents in China.
Jilin University: In June 2000, five universities including Jilin University, Jilin University of Technology, Bethune Medical University, changchun university of science and technology University and Changchun University of Posts and Telecommunications merged to form a new Jilin University, which made a qualitative leap in chemical strength.
In the 20 17 academic ranking of world universities (ARWU), the chemistry discipline of Jida University ranked in the top 50 in the world, ranking 37th, and the discipline of "Nanoscience and Technology" with the School of Chemistry as an important supporting force ranked 22nd.
Xiamen University: The Department of Chemistry was established in 1922, which is one of the earliest departments in China. The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering has 1 national first-class key disciplines, 14 second-class doctoral and master's degree authorization points, and 2 postdoctoral mobile stations.
The third echelon of chemistry major: Shanghai Jiaotong University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, Fuzhou University, Wuhan University, Hunan University, Sun Yat-sen University and Sichuan University.
